I – Bookkeeping Specialist and Office Admin

This person will provide timely and accurate financial bookkeeping support for multiple clients of the firm.  Front office administrative duties are an important part of this position.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Retroactive bookkeeping for multiple clients of firm using QuickBooks Online (QBO) platform
  • Monitor, review, and prepare the annual filings of Forms 1099 for multiple clients
  • Assist with client payroll onboarding and time-keeping entry
  • Prepare client documents for personal property tax returns and worker compensation audits
  • Provide front office reception, scheduling, office filing/organization, and communication with clients and among the firm
  • Support for regular and infrequent projects

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or comparable education in accounting/bookkeeping
  • 3+ years bookkeeping experience with working knowledge of accounting principles
  • Certified QB Pro Advisor or willing to obtain that designation
  • Knowledge of the payroll process is helpful
  • Experience with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Able to organize, communicate clearly, and work independently and with others
  • Willing to learn and help others in an enjoyable, supportive environment

II – Tax Accountant

We are looking for someone who will specialize in preparing income tax returns, conducting tax research, and resolving various tax inquiries.  Additional duties involving taxpayer representation before the Internal Revenue Service are possible depending upon licensure.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Preparation of federal and state income tax returns, including amended and prior-year returns, for entities, businesses, and individuals
  • Adjust compiled financial statements for further use with income tax reporting
  • Review, research, and resolve general inquiries, including notices from taxing authorities received by or for clients of the firm
  • Use critical thinking skills to arrive at appropriate conclusions and communicate effectively
  • Occasional tax research and communications with clients

Qualifications

  • Minimum licensure: Oregon LTC; Helpful designation: Enrolled Agent (EA), CPA or Tax Attorney
  • Understanding of generally accepted tax accounting principles (GATAP) used in financial bookkeeping compilations
  • Experience with Ultra Tax, QuickBooks Online (QBO), and MS Office suite
  • Must be available for seasonal, full time work (typically mid-January to mid-April, and mid-July to mid-October), Part time work possible during non-peak seasons with flexible scheduling
  • Optional licensure to represent clients before the IRS is valued (EA, CPA or Attorney)
